Oliver Ryan-Purcell is the joint owner (with his wife, Dorothy) and founder of Civil and
Commercial Mediation Ltd. Originally from North Cork, he graduated from UCD and the Law
Society with a BCL degree in 1975 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1977. He also did a two
year night postgraduate course in European Law in UCD, graduating in 1979. He received his M.A.
From U.L. in 1992 for his thesis entitled ' EUROPEAN COMMUNITY MILK QUOTA REGULATIONS IN
IRELAND Legal Uncertainties'.
Oliver Ryan-Purcell, now an accredited mediator (civil and commercial and also family), is
a solicitor who has specialised in Agricultural Legal matters for the last twenty years prior
to which he worked in general legal practice.

He has been appointed director of the mediation division of the Rea Group, consultants in agriculture and business, which has
recently expanded its range of services to include property and debt resolution and mediation and has formed
an alliance with a specialist Dublin mediation firm, Friary Law/ADR Group, for the purposes of providing a
comprehensive mediation service and a panel of mediators with various specialist backgrounds to the rural community
nationally. The service is also available in the UK.
He has transferred his practice to Aisling Meehan, Solicitor, Rathlahine Farm, Newmarket-on- Fergus, Co. Clare
to whom he acts as consultant while also continuing to advise on agricultural legal issues.
